Great Falls may be a small city, but there is no shortage of things to see and do. From museums to state parks, the Imperial Inn is within a 15 minute drive of some of the best attractions in Montana. Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center
Ranked the #1 attraction in Great Falls (by TripAdvisor), the Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail Interpretive Center is only a 10 minute drive from the Imperial Inn. Follow Lewis and Clark’s famous journey expanding the United States westward as you walk through this historic museum and trail overlooking the Missouri River in Giant Springs Heritage State Park. The 25,000 square-foot building has a theater, hands-on curriculum-based activities, and many exhibits. It’s only $8.00 to enter, but free for kids 15 and under! They also have picnic tables, making it a great place to have lunch.
Giant Springs State Park
Discovered by the Lewis and Clark Expedition, the Giant Springs State Park is one of the largest freshwater springs in the country, and is only a 10 minute drive from the Imperial Inn. If you’re up for a hike, the River’s Edge Trail can be accessed half a mile from Imperial Inn at Gibson Park and will take you right through Giant Springs. This beautiful park is a great place to see Montana’s wildlife, including bird watching and fishing. Bring the whole family (including pets) and enjoy picnicking, playgrounds, bicycling, and nature tours of one of the best parks in Great Falls, Montana.
Eagle Falls Golf Club
At just over 2 miles from the Imperial Inn, Eagle Falls Golf Club is the most popular golf course in Great Falls, Montana (also check out Hickory Swing Golf Course and Anaconda Hills Golf Course in Great Falls). This 18-hole course offers four sets of tees for all experience levels. Even an avid golfer will find themselves challenged on the 18th hole which is a dogleg right with a lake to avoid on the second shot. The golf club also offers a chipping green with a practice bunker, a practice putting green, and a driving range. Make sure the call the pro shop in advance to request a tee time.
Warden Park (Disc Golf)
If golf isn’t your thing, you might want to try Disc Golf. Also called Frisbee Golf or Folf, Disc Golf is easy to pick up, and fun for the whole family. Located only 1.4 miles from the Imperial Inn, Warden Park offers a beautiful 18-hole course which is arguably the best in the state. Enjoy walking through the park as you toss your discs in a more casual version of golf. You can also check out the 9-hole course at West Bank Park in Great Falls
Historic Trolley Tour (Visitor’s Center)
When visiting Great Falls, the Visitor’s Center is a great place to get started. Only 1.5 miles from the Imperial Inn, they offer information on most of the attractions in Great Falls, and you can also take an Historic Trolley Tour. A climate-controlled, replica, motorized trolley will take you through Great Falls and show off the scenery, live-entertainment, and activities the “Electric City” has to offer. Find out where you can find the best barbecued buffalo burger, or micro-brewery in town while enjoying the hospitality of Great Falls.
Ice Plex (Ice Skating)
If the weather isn’t cold enough to ice skate at Gibson Park, the Ice Plex is the place to go. Only a 10 minute drive from the Imperial in, the Ice Plex offers ice skating and special events throughout the year. They also host figure skating and hockey associations, making it a premier location in Great Falls.
